Social Media Unplugged 2011

From small businesses to mainstream media to large corporations, social media is impacting the way we do business and how we communicate.

For many, social media is a new experience.  One that requires learning by trial and error.

That’s where the value of conferences come in.  Instead of learning by trial and error yourself, you can learn from individuals who have gone down the same beginning path that you have.  You can learn from their experiences – both bad and good.

Social Media Unplugged in Calgary

On May 7, the Social Media Unplugged conference comes to Calgary.  There are great speakers from well-recognized organizations.  The speaker list includes:

  • Rochelle Grayson, BookRiff Media Inc.
  • Marty Yaskowich, Tribal DDB Worldwide
  • Elijah van der Giessen, David Suski Foundation
  • Dave Olson, HootSuite Media Inc.
  • Crystal Henrickson, Yelp Canada
  • Patti Blackstaffe, Strategic Sense Inc.

I’ve partnered with the conference organizer, to give away a free ticket.  Here’s how you can enter:

  • Leave a comment on this post about how social media has impacted your life (1 entry)
  • Post the following on Twitter (1 entry)

Social media has helped me share my school work with friends and family. It also has helped me create Lethbridge Nightlife – a tool to share deals and events around Lethbridge!

  • Mike McCready

I am extending the contest to Tuesday, April 26th at noon because my website was having technical problems on Saturday.

  • Aviva

Being a self published author social media is a affordable way to let people know about my books. But really it’s a great way to meet new & interesting people without the risk of being physically harmed
